The Greatest Indian Businessman

I have heard a lot of rags-to-riches businessmen stories, who went onto become the greatest of all but did not think of someone as a role model to look upon until the time I saw this. Of course I have done nothing more than the fact of supposing him as my role model. However lately I had this sudden thought bolted in my mind (about another ONE, whom I have never looked upon this way before) which made me think again about this whole "Whom should I learn from and look upon?" stuff. Since that compelling thought within myself, I could not restrain myself from thinking about why "HE" definitely was/is/will be the Greatest Indian Businessman EVER (though he is successful world over, his grass roots are from India). Here are the strong reasons for why he's THE ONE.

  • Some historical references elucidate that he was born to poor parents.
  • He was a child prodigy in-fact a baby prodigy to be precise and people awed and oohed of his talent.
  • His words of wisdom enlightened people's lives.
  • His discourses on any subject as complied by his listeners were bestsellers in its own genres.
  • He took up various roles at different timelines in widespread geographies to reach the masses.
  • He never expressed interest in a business partnership with anyone but people thronged at his place for having him as a partner and he had never said no to anyone.
  • There has only been growth and success stories of people who have had him as their partners and the World at large is an example for this.
  • Though he professed on having faith on themselves and their skills, people have only increasingly had more faith on him instead and invested more of their time and money on him.
  • No doubt he has the largest fan followers who are ready to do anything for him.
  • He was the first and the most successful person in the history ever, to harness and sell beliefs to people.
  • His selling potential beats the necessity for advertisements, promotions or marketing and the word of mouth reach has just been phenomenal and ever growing.
  • His reach has been to all classes of economy and has not shown any discrimination to anyone, whomsoever.
  • He does not have any specific headquarters and every establishment of his has always reaped benefits outstandingly well in all forms of financial exchanges by selling out beliefs, philosophies,  stories, souvenirs  etc.
  • He has done business in a way what billions of others have not even imagined in their wildest dreams in-spite of age long strong speculation of him being mythological or factual.
  • In fact a few others have followed suit in this business model and have made their mark in their own manner and have been  examples of similar run away success stories in their own worlds.
Though there are scores of people who have aspired and worked upon to be GOD, none have reached that pinnacle of success and hence the take away here for many budding entrepreneurs is to learn some of those "GODLY business principles", if not all and apply it in their own respective interests.

P.S. This was not a shot at the sentiments of any reader but purely an analogy derived out of something in practice.

  9. He sells a commodity NO one else can EVER sell, a commodity no one can do without. This is, therefore, monopoly, not business!

  10. True dude, it was a monopoly until many others learnt the tricks of the trade and in the name of religion it churned out to become a business and the new players (via their followers) began to lure and market it amongst the common man..!!!

  11. At point 8 I had inkling who you are referring to and at point 13 I knew I made the right guess!! He who knows it all, even before you or anyone else could think of a start he has scripted the entire story!

The way you created this puzzle cum post is ‘Romba Nallathu’! (I hope I got it right ;))

  12. Saravana, in every transaction, more so in such complicated ones, we must learn to differentiate between the supplier and middle men. I thought your post was about the supplier, and hence my comment: here, I spoke about undisputed monopoly, ever, and forever. Agreed, middlemen did business, but, surely, in no scale can you call them the greatest businessmen, ever, for, like with every mediation, there is always competition - and in excess!

  13. It was indeed about the supplier da and my point was that it was a monopoly until many joined the bandwagon of being GOD in their respective worlds...and it became a business on a large scale of the sorts when the world became a smaller place and the religions came closer to one another crossing boundaries geographically and culturally !!!

  14. A transition from monopoly to business is impossible, if not for competing suppliers: are you hinting at competing "Gods", rather than competing middle men? If yes, how would you distinguish between the two? I can only see competing middlemen, for, God, going by your post, being characterized by the commodity that he "sells", remains the SAME, if you should notice, across the middlemen. Its like saying: science has lost its monopoly in the face of emerging technologies!

  15. The age old historical Indian Gods have now become to exist in competition with the fairly new comers such say Jesus or Prophet Mohammed (Though they did not proclaim themselves as god) were all elevated to those levels based on their ideologies, talent and philosophies, by their followers (or middlemen, in this case). The follower's urge to carry on or spread the glory of their GODS led to all forms of rituals and worship which turned it into business with the course of time and it was brand GOD that sold every time. I agree that it was the middlemen who harnessed it but then its just to contemplate on the fact whether could it be the well charted out plan of the "Knower of everything"?

  16. 1. Having gone into the categorization of the transaction into the source and middlemen, its important to define what the commodity is: its "favorable intractability" with the devotee; everything else is middlemen. Here, therefore, the middlemen become the descriptive codification of the historical context surrounding the transaction. Therefore, like with now, when the religions, taken out of their respective contexts, meet, its less of a clash between the source than a clash between middlemen, as should be evident from the present construction. Simply put, all perceptions of god derive meaning ONLY from "HIS" ability to interfere favorably in a devotee's material affairs, and this is, obviously, something only HE can do, ever, and everything else is inevitable detail surrounding such transactions, mimicking a middleman.

  17. 2. So far as his "plans" are concerned, its only logically consistent to suggest that the power for "free will" given to us makes all such deterministic designs impossible. Going further, its only this indeterminacy that renders credibility to HIS power for favorable intervention. So, religion(some), given their historical role in being of disservice to divinity by indulging in power usurping, far from being an agent that can potentially dethrone the monopoly of the source, only reaffirms it, by way of exposing the impossibility of the middleman's transformation to the supplier!

  19. Many new businessmen evolved and emegered to the top position post independece period who played an important role in the success story of building India's economy. The Indian businessmen already had their share but some Indians carrying out their business abroad played a major role too, just like Dr P Mohamed Ali
