What's a befitting tribute to APJ Abdul Kalam?

For what he as done, said & lived, is a public holiday, candle march or rather a visit to his birth town a mark of tribute?

Here's a long list of what ideally could be a pledge in honor of one of the finest modern statesmen the world has ever seen.

"I take a vow with utmost sincerity & dedication to the grand old Missile Man of India and offer to stand by it no matter what the circumstance would be, that at least from this day..."

As an Academician

I would envision & formulate an education system that would not just make the children educated but truly learned.

As a Teacher

I would empower my students with my knowledge & experience as well as be open to learn and update myself in the process as well.

As a Student

With a rational mindset I would learn, understand, question & even debate what is unveiled to me both inside as well as outside of schools.

 As The President of India

I would expedite all mercy petitions in shortest turnaround time with due diligence in the process. I would also uphold the idealism of my office in terms of how a First Citizen needs to be like how Bharat Ratna Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam exhibited.

As a Politician

I would be simple, honest and ethical in my words as well as activities and would abide by the rules laid down by the constitution in the truest of senses & work for the best interest of the nation, state, district, town, panchayat in same the stated order devoid of any interferences in the name of religion, caste or family.

As a Government Servant

I would carry out my work with utmost care, diligence & timeliness unfettered by the lures of personal favors, be it from bureaucrats, politicians or general public.

As a Policeperson

I would protect, serve & uphold justice as laid down by the codes of conduct and provide a shoulder to trust upon at all times of anyone's personal duress, without an iota of expectation of return of favors in terms of money or material from the affected folks.

As a Lawyer

I would wholeheartedly believe in the Indian Penal Code & represent my party in an impeccable manner till the exhaustion of all possible legal remedies and accept the judgement with grace.

As a Judge

I would give a fair hearing to the prosecution as well as the defense and provide a comprehensive and conclusive judgement at the shortest time possible that would carry utmost merit and would stand to be upheld if there exists a provision of further appeal.

As a Journalist

I would apply my mind in clearly distinguishing what news & opinions are and publish it in the appropriate way only upon verifying the authenticity of facts at hand. I shall uphold the ethical integrity that befits the fourth pillar and remain non-partisan on all counts.

As a Doctor

I would diagnose & treat the health issues with my best judgement for anyone who seeks my expert medical advice without any profit-making motives whatsoever.

As an Engineer

In the process of nation building on all possible ways I would strive to be an engineer based on my prowess rather than work as an engineer for paltry sums for survival.

As an Entrepreneur

I would envision and execute ventures that not just serves a particular section to the society but rather the world at large having in mind, of it not being an impediment to all the rudimentary assets of nature & our environment.

As an Indian

  I would
  • keep my vicinity clean.
  • abide by the rules and laws of the nation be from the smallest to the gravest.
  • embrace religious beliefs of any faith if it is ethical, righteous & gives me a better guidance in life.
  • be proud to use locally made goods, be it of any nature and in turn support the process of making it a much sought-after one, globally.
  • spread positivity to others and always be helpful to people around.
  • take care of nature and nurture it as my own for a better world in the future.
  • vote without any sectarian bias for anyone whom I believe is the right person to take the country in the right way.

Top 5 Qualities that Defines Most Indians

Sparing an opening note for the first timers and for the record, India is a land of diverse elements, be it the climatic variances across the lengths and breadths of the sub-continent to the language localization within the country. In-spite of this plethora of diversities there still exists certain characteristics that uniquely identifies a true Indian be it (sampled) from any part of the globe. There were quite a lot of inputs (though mostly derogatory), the following are my compilation of the top 5 qualities that defines most Indians, in no specific order.
  • Judgmental & Blamer
For non-Indians these might be two totally different characteristics a person might possess but for an Indian these go hand in hand just like politics and corruption. When you find a person who talks to you, say for a few minutes and if you're sure he's an Indian then most likely that he has already judged you. Few instances to give a hang of the lovely judgmental qualities we Indians possess and use in conversations....
    • A bearded guy has failed in love (excluding the ones who have it for religious reasons).
    • All flashy dressed women are allegedly hookers.
    • Those who 'obey' parents are the best kids on earth.
    • All those who study abroad are exceptionally brilliant.
Coming to the blamer quality, its deeply embossed in the DNA of all of us. The last thing on earth we can do is to accept our fault without throwing the blame on others. The fact that the present day reality shows having taken the western world concept to the next level is one stamping proof. Here again a few instances to show case the typical blame-games...
    • At road accidents be it small or big, we are always right and the others involved are always wrong.
    • When it comes to punctuality be it at work or even for meet up with friends or family, the whole world is at mistake for our miss and mess up of the timeline.
    • Even our clothes & shoes take the blame for getting 'smaller' rather attributing to the fact of us becoming 'bigger'.
  • Spice Foodie
This part of the world has people whose spice levels in their food could touch alarming levels (according to a non-Indian) and still remain fit and healthy. As the saying goes 'Variety is the spice of life' we Indians have a variety of spices to heat up our lively taste buds and its diversity can only be experienced by travelling across to different parts of our '!ncredible !ndia'
  • God Fearing
If there is something that defies the law (Indian Penal Code, Constitution etc...) and procreates a belief that is widely accepted and nurtured as the law of the land then it is the belief in God or the Almighty or in whichever term the wide-spread religious establishments across the country call it. As much to the delight of countless Indians on earth, there exists equally countless ways, situations, opportunities etc for the implementation of these God-Fearing beliefs cutting across regions, religions & languages. Also comes truck loads of superstitions as a freebie with this trait.
  • Coitus as sex
Being a country that is one of the top on the table in terms of population or in terms of the number affected by STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) & for historical reasons too (Kamasutra), our country is ample with theory of Coitus in its artistic illustrations which are looked up and held in high esteem by the outsiders as an art. However ironically most in this country don't even know the term by its former name and refer it as the latter and mold it to the extent that compels kids to believe that any form of even knowledge-based exposure or discussion based on it elevates one to a 'bad' societal status. Hence it results in the obvious inquisitive trait (in secrecy) and the internet boom, crimes, fetishes and what not, the rest is history. Due to this genetic degeneration of coitus what is left is just the physical eroticism, population explosion and growth of porn industry as a grey shade.
  • Nomadic or Adjustable
It's a grounding fact that a major chuck of earning Indians are salaried, which in simple layman terms translates to "I shall be ready to do anything that my boss orders me to, and remain grumbling behind their backs forever". We're probably the largest class of people in the world to be proud to trade our families for lucrative donkey jobs anywhere on the globe. We learn the global business language (English), foreign languages and most importantly unlearn our local language to not become literary experts or for the love of the language but just to earn money. If the 'brain-drainers' are so, the locals aren't amateurs either. Its just the economics of it, the locals do the same adjustments in their lives for up to 5 digit salaries while the NRIs do for a 7 digit onward perk.

Some of the qualities that almost made it

Old Whine in Another Bottle

Yet another year passed by.

It was an eventful year

of

daily agony

to a section of society

grown bigger than last year.

Suddenly everybody seemed abuzz

in celebratory mood

&

it took me a few a minutes to realize

Women's Day was the culprit.

Jayalalitha's CODE of Governance

The following is the code of conduct that Jayalalitha have been following since ADMK government came to power, a few months ago. The code is in a very abstract format with each of its functions being delegated, compiled and executed independently and reported back to you know whom.

Top Five Tricks NOT To Be Taught To Kids

As a popular ad says kids need to be "Smarter, Stronger & Sharper", just imagine how much does the parents of those kids need to be. There are quite a large number of kids whose  parent's exclamation ranges from "Oh wow, he/she is  so cute and naughty" to "OHH MY GOD , I cannot handle 'it' anymore".  Here are the TOP 5 NOT-To-Be-Taught tricks that are taught to kids which hits back the parents later on in their lives.

  • #5 Hit Me - The easiest and earliest of the vulnerable tricks that could cause damage and embarrassment is teaching a kid  to peck and slap, by holding their hands. It will look cute to see a 2 year old do that but not any further once the kid starts to speak and goes to school.
  • #4 Abuse Me - Some young parents does not truly foresee the impact of 'teaching' kids a few words of abuse "to show off" amidst their friends circle that their kid has picked up such words so early, only to realize later that their kids have become such intolerable brats because of their choice of words in conversations, having grown up.
  • #3 Denial Mode -  Many a time when kids play with something or have something in their hands, elders tend to ask them for it. Some parents teach the kids the art of denial to such requests. Kids catch up with this trick rather quickly and rather improvise to be in the denial mode even to their parents, later.
  • #2 Possessiveness  - This is just the other way round of the denial trick wherein kids stay adamant and cocky when someone takes or uses 'their' stuff. It starts from something as small as a toy to grow in proportions to as much as 'their' house when they grow up, asking their parents to leave.
  • #1 Being Disrespectful and Unapologetic - This is the most disheartening and painful one which is not taught, like the ones said above but needs to be corrected by the parents when kids behave disrespectful or speak in an unapologetic manner rather than gape and awe at their kids prowess and 'wisdom' when they do that. The reason for this being the top most because this in turn leads to the other four listed above, being 'learned' by the kids in due course of time.

A few blessed elders does not give chance for these to creep into a kids mind and some lucky elders realize this sooner and make amends whereas MOST realize very late after a lot of damage has been done in shaping the kid and then repent for it later on, as we know "all kids are more or less the same at birth, its how they are nurtured that defines their personal aura and sets their character."

Prostitutionalization

Disclaimer
The below mentioned FACT is just MY opinion documented and any resemblance to something you have seen or heard off, is purely intentional!!!

With International Women's Day being celebrated this month, there would be scores and scores of activities abuzz across the nation by various political affiliates and corporates as well as news articles, shopping offers and what not in the name of supporting, appreciating and celebrating womanhood. At this timely juncture I felt it would be apt to highlight a different genre of how women are "celebrated" if not on Women's Day but throughout the year at various societal, economic, cultural, regional levels and that brings us to categorical classification of women as prostitutes

WHAT THE HELL?
Yes you read it right, women in our country are indeed represented, branded, classified and that act is what I would like to call as prostitutionalization

WHY SO?
Well, those who could not understand of why such a terminology in first place, are those who are ignorant of such a thing either by chance or by compulsively minded practice to not accept that fact openly and maybe just be furiously judgmental already, at such an audacious representation.

I AM READY TO HEAR THE HOW PART...
Just to fine tune your focus on the precise direction of representation of this fact and also for the benefit of the ones who are new to this term, prostitutes are the one who do the obvious stuff (First part) for Money (Second Part) wherein the motive "For the second part" elevates a woman to be termed as a prostitute. BUT the people, in our country at large do not stick to the dictionary definitions and instead make do with their own representations and branding to give that COVETED title to women (in raw plain English, with a lot of colloquial and expletive synonyms and derivatives indicting the same) either with a precognitive mindset or "From the experience of the number of women I have seen, known and heard off" mindset. This "make do representative mindset of people" about women is THE CRUX of my HOW part.

  • The most common form of such a classification happens during angry outbursts by men (usually) and women (these days) in calling men and women as Son of B****s (SoBs) and B****s respectively in any and all possible languages they are familiar with and there is no validation or reasoning of such derogatory statements. Many are so very fluent in making such statements that they're mentally numb to notice who and what they are referring to.
  • Its surprisingly saddening that these judgments are passed on girls even at school level when they are found talking with lot of boys and a lot sooner if the boys are not from the same class or age group or if people could not arrive at some logical connect behind a girl's such an action and the same stands good and even "better" in college life.
  • An outspoken and broadminded woman in a Corporate is regarded, subtly branded "approachable" right away.
  • Actresses, be it Television or Cinema, Personal Secretaries, Models, Air-Hostesses, Housekeeping staff, Hotel Management industry people, those working under many of the verticals that are a subset of "Media" industry and a lot more fields where the glamor plays a predominant role, the women are mostly Character Assassinated (CAed) by default and retrospectively classified.
  • Divorcees , spinsters and widows come under another larger section of women who are "talked with" and "talked about" on such similar coveted lines.
  • And finally AIDS suffering / ailing women are looked upon and CAed yet again based on these presumptive mindsets.
As long as prostitution exists in one's thought as a feminine phenomenon and people do not deal with such "nobel" minded themselves or the ones they know, prostitutionalization will never cease to exist but will only grow stronger in its own subtler manner...!!!

World Headlines in 2060 - India #1

"Ajmal Kasab is dead"

In one of the most remarkable turn of events of the year, Ajmal Kasab breathed his last at his residence in Arthur Road Jail. His health started to fail since the last two days and the doctors almost timed his demise to precision and hence there was this The Truman Show kind of coverage of his last two days.
  • Unconfirmed reports suggest that Al-Qaeda had sponsored the entire show on 50 of the 2456 National television news channels that covered the entire episode.
  • Film producers from across the country have already sought rights from the channels to make movies based on various aspects of the life of Ajmal Kasab.
  • 26/11 victim's grand kids from across Mumbai have begun celebrating and one such caught on News Channel Camera was seen saying "Patience and perseverance of the Long Arm of Indian Justice has given him the capital punishment in the best way possible.
  • Pakistan had sent its deepest condolences for the fact that it had just considered running an inquiry to establish Kasab's identity as a Pakistani but its rather unfortunate that he is no more.  As a quick response to Pakistan's statement, The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has released a statement "We are very happy on Pakistan's initiative and would like to commit that Kasab's body would be preserved till Pakistan completes its inquiry on finding his nationality."
  • The entire Kasab's episode, journey and his existence in India has received very positive feedback from lots of terrorists and almost everyone are unanimous in their thoughts of shifting their terror base to India. When asked why, one was proud to state that "Here we get a lot of respect and concern and most importantly we can lead a dignified life as India's core value of Athithi Devo Bhava  is very much extended to us, if not all."
